For those who keeping up with all of the news...

Well, tonight, I prepare for my first ever Pampered Chef Open House. I will be hosting a show and who knows how many if anyone will show up but I have been cooking and cleaning for it none the less. Casey left for Oklahoma City this afternoon sadly, for a funeral. The prothestist that normally customizes all of Casey's legs was killed this past week. I think it was a hit-and-run. My sister, and her youngest son, bless his heart, are home from the hospital! This is wonderful news and now with new surroundings (other than the hospital) he can recover to as good as new! This is just what we needed! If any of you don't know what I am talking about, her 1 1/2 year old stopped walking and sitting due to a bacterial infection in his spine. He is going to have a home nurse administer pain medication and check his stats. I am glad he will be home with his family and be near the Christmas tree tucked in bed where things are familiar to him! Thank you to all who have been praying for him! Taylor is starting to laugh and we are introducing him to solids now and unfortunately he is eating more healthy than his mommy and daddy. He loves carrots and Butternut squash. He loves feeding time and this is when he giggles the most and spits or makes zurburts so out comes food if you know what I mean. He loves it! When he has had enough, he is a mess! Lucky for me we received so many bibs, we are covered! This also means we don't have diaper blow-outs anymore! I hope I don't jinx myself! We have been having loads of fun with our friends in the Moms and Tots group and have been socializing with even the passerbys that think Taylor is older than he really is. Even the mail-lady comes up to the house to see how the babe is doing and to catch a glimpse of his fat turkey thighs. Most often we go on walks or stroll the zoo with friends and eat and play. Taylor is still the largest of the 4 month olds and therefore still has not attempted to roll over. He does like to stand and bounce in his exersaucer which is great! We are also teaching Taylor sign language and now I am helping him form the signs with his own hands. I know... a little much for his age but we will see... Oh, there he is... up for a night snack... gotta run... Love to all

Taylor can't get enough!

I am just having so much fun!!!

Taylor with his "Lovey"

Taylor takes his "Lovey" everywhere with him! He will hold it and hug it to our amazement! Once his pacifier has popped out of his mouth, he will suck on the tail or the ears... The "Lovey" has a collar that reads: My best Friend... How appropriate! It also is a rattle so we shake it and he laughs and laughs... Our Taylor... he's the best!

Helping mommy with laundry... Yeah Right!

Taylor wanted to help with folding laundry but it didn't work out the way I'd hoped... he liked it much more all bunched instead of folded! Anyway, this was a good picture that I thought would reveal the laid back, stud muffin! We think he looks great in flannel shirts. Here is a close up of cute cheeks! We just love to pinch 'em!

Lots of love handles!

We can't get enough! We love just pinching his love handles! Just want to update everyone that Taylor and I are back in San Diego and settled in again back down here. There doesn't seem to be any smoke from the fires but we did see the charred hills all through LA area and near San Diego where the fires burned all the way to Interstate 5. It was bad! Lucky for us, our house doesn't smell like smoke and the weather here is great... it has pushed all the smoke from the skies and you wouldn;t even know there were any fires recently! Anyway, today, we are going to our Music and Movement class for the baby and we can't wait! We send our love! Adios!

Well Baby Visit

Well, this morning, in Fresno (where my parents live), we had a 2 month well baby visit. Due to the fires in San Diego we were evacuated as well as some of the Dr.'s there. We needed to make sure that Taylor was seen so that he could get his shots and a check up to evaluate his developement... and... HE PASSED!!! YEAH! Anyway, Taylor weighed in at 17 lbs. 4 ounces and is in the 97% and he measures 25 in. Everyday he is growing leaps and bounds. He is intrested in rolling over but, due to his large body it is not really working for him yet. He is so heavy in the mid-section that he gets stuck. He is cooing and smiling all the time and well he always makes us laugh! Casey went back home to continue with work and so being seperated is a little tough! It isn't the same when you are away from the kids... I know that Taylor misses his daddy! Anyway, Taylor had a difficult day today due to the shots and has been sleeping a ton! Lucky for us, he didn't get a fever and didn't seem to be fussy at all! Man, he is SUCH A GOOD BABY! He got 2 blue Charlie Brown bandaids on both thighs and well he didn't like receiving the shots at all! He screamed but settled down as soon as I picked him up and reassured him! As soon as he was okay, I sat him in his car seat and he was out for a good solid hour. After that hour had passed, he woke and just laid around kindof groggy and tired in and out of sleep all day. We had him laying in the doggy bed (not used by the dogs) all day. Now, I have him laying in the sling and am carrying him around. The doctor says he is good and healthy and thriving and for that we are blessed! He wasn't concerned with the mark on his face and said it will go away. He said that we should not worry one bit! We aren't! He also was such a very good doctor that I kind-of wish he was in San Diego. Oh well, sigh... Anyway, we will get back to everyone once we are back in San Diego, but for now everyone is safe and sound.

My favorite video of Casey & Taylor

Most recent pics and stories...

This is where Taylor takes most of his naps... while mom does dishes and cooks... This is his favorite seat in his most favorite spot. Sometimes, he will lie awake here and we listen to music.

This is Taylor after his eye appointment... The doc dialated his eyes so we needed extra protection from the sun... Lucky for him, mommy had already purchased his first set of sunglasses. He is so precious!
This is us at the zoo on our first visit... Just last week it was and what do you know... Taylor wanted to go around naked! No, just kidding... Read the story below...

Here is somemore...

Taylor's such a big boy!

Well, I am a bit over-due with letting everyone know what is going on with Taylor. I am sorry but I will try to remember everything important. First things first, Taylor is growing leaps and bounds and is such a happy boy! He is a big talker and holds conversations for quite a while with both Casey and I when he wants to tell us something very important. He laughs and laughs a lot... and coos and coos! I have videos to prove it. Anyway, he is getting big like I said and we have to adjust his carseat almost everytime he gets in it because it is always much tighter than the last time... The boy eats constantly and therefore has so many diaper changes I can't even keep track of how many poops he has a day anymore! Sometimes it gets overwhelming because it seems that the diaper blowouts are becoming so frequent that laundry and diapers are piling up! I have to take so many outfits on all of our outings that way he is not naked for any reason... Now I have an emergency kit in the car and have had to include in it a pair of pants for myself since I have been pooped on SO MANY TIMES!!! (He poops while he is nursing, hence the poop in my lap and all over my legs) Anyway, we went to the zoo for the first time the other day which was a blast and Taylor of course pooped but I had no idea it was a blowout until... dun...dun... dun... I was going to nurse him and I picked him up out of the stroller and got poop all over my hands while lifting him up and out. The poop explosion had somehow squirt all the way up and out the neck of his shirt getting poop in his hair it was a disaster! Lucky for me, I had a friend with me and she helped hold Taylor while I managed to take his arms and head out of the outfit without spreading the poop anywhere else. Well, this was all on a bench on the zoos pathway so EVERY passerby saw the whole scene. Since I had dealt with a couple of blowout catastraphes before I was most prepared. This time though, we took a picture of Taylor naked as a jaybird on the bench,at the zoo, so we would always remember... I am now convinced that we need bigger diapers. That being said Taylor is about 16 or more pounds now and hasn't even turned 2 months yet. He is already in size 3 diapers which are made to fit 16-28 pound kids. That is our BIG-Bruiser! He is our Pride and Joy! We love him so much! Stay tuned for more news and video clips... Until next time...

More pics

Yes, he is a sleeper! Even at Universal Studios... He wouldn't even wake up to take a picture with Spider Man! He sure is fun though! When he is awake we just stare at him! He is great with facial expressions and is just now enjoying rattles and following them with his eyes... We love him!

Trip to Berlin...

-Casey and Xavier LeDraoullec from France-
More than 42,000 people flocked to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, to experience the excitement of the International Paralympic Day 2007.
The event, hosted by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), gave visitors the chance to watch their favourite Paralympic athletes in action, as well put their own sporting talent to the test by trying out several sports, including Biathlon, Table Tennis, Football 5-a-side and Wheelchair Basketball.
As always, one of the highlights was the Long Jump competition. The crowed gasped as Germany’s Matthias Schröder jumped an astonishing 6.85m (class F13). Thomas Ulbricht (GER) came second of the clearing 6.24m, followed closely by Casey Tibbs (USA) with 6.14m (F44). ((These first 2 men were in a different class/category then Casey... Casey is the only amputee amongst them...))
Now we are happy to have Casey back home with us and he is catching up on sleep he has not had in days... Lucky for us, Taylor is such a good sleeper and it has been very easy for Casey to get caught up. That is all for now...

It is the moment you have all been waiting for! Here is Taylor Tibbs, our little miracle! He was born Friday, August 17, 5:29AM, weighing in at a great big 9LBs 4 oz. and measuring 22 in. We are so very happy and couldn't be anymore excited at every little thing he does! I am so proud to be a mommy as is Casey to be a daddy! We can't wait to introduce him to the rest of the clan and all our friends! Until next time, have a happy, happy day!

Updates from the ESPY's

I don't know if we will be getting any more photos from our adventure. I really hope you like this one though. Also, Casey finally received his engraved ESPY award and it is awesome! Thanks to all who voted and believed in Casey!

Pregnancy Update...

Well, we are aproaching the end of the 40th week and Taylor decided to stay put in his cozy little room and did not come on the 8th. I had experienced contractions at home begining the 38th week and am dialated past 4cm but all of the sudden contractions stopped and we have just been waiting. This means I am into my 10th month of being pregnant and yes, I am ready to deliver... Sometimes I have my dog days and sometimes I am fine. The good thing is that Taylor is good and healthy, but he is stubborn. Just kidding. I think that most nights we go to bed thinking well, is this going to be the night but by morning we have slept off the feelings of "hey this could be it!" We try to keep busy so that we aren't just locked up at home waiting anxiously so we walk to the local eateries, movie shop, and ice cream store. Sometimes we just walk just to walk on the beach or around some of San Diego's hot spots. We even tried bowling and besides trying to keep my balance as best I could, we had great fun and Taylor still didn't come. We got to see The Bourne Ultimatum in theaters and that was exciting. Anyway, the next Dr. visit will be next Thursday, but there is no telling if they will admit me at that point or not so... unfortunately, we have no real news just foggy details that may or may not pan out. As far as Casey going to Berlin, that is also up in the air. He doesn't plan on missing the birth of his son but we don't know when Taylor will come so... There you have it...

We are so proud of Casey!

Recently, the Navy did an interview with Casey and it was a very good piece! Check it out here at this link: http://www.news.navy.mil/management/videodb/player/video.aspx?id=9693

We hope you enjoy...

P.S. We are quickly approaching our due date and well, all is fine here at the homefront... We think the baby will be here late, but there is no way to tell. Aug. 8th, is only 3 days away.

A hard day's work...

If anyone wonders what Casey does all day, I thought you might want to see this. Double click on the image to view it full screen.

Another update...

Just wanted to give an update to all the folks who keep up with this blog... We are now 39 wks. pregnant and counting... At my last appointment... the dr. said it could be anytime... I was already dialated and well I might not make it to the 39th wk. However, I thought, as well as Casey that Taylor would come late... I guess we will see. My devoted husband, he is so great... takes me on walks in order to kick start contractions on a regular basis... It is great fun, really! Sometimes we walk for hours and sometimes we walk to the local Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream Shack... That is the best! Whenever I do have a contraction we time it and then check the frequency and it makes us both think that we might be in for a long night ahead of us... then regretably, as soon as we get home, sigh... contractions subside and no baby... I know it is silly for us to think we can make this baby come... but, I am sure we are like every couple who tries and tries to motivate their child to HURRY UP! Lucky for us, there have been no complications in this pregnancy and the baby is good and healthy... I just wonder how big he is going to be! Well, hopefully, we will be able to keep everyone posted as the days approach. Have a great week everyone!

LOS ANGELES (July 11, 2007) - Before ESPN’s ESPY awards show, Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Derek Sanchez interviews Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive) 1st Class Casey Tibbs about his award nomination on the red carpet at the Kodak Theatre. Last Week @ the Endeavor Games

Immediatly after my last exam, Casey and I boarded a plane headed for Oklahoma City. While we were there, Casey lead some track clinics, visited with his prosthetic company, brought some Balboa Navy Medical patients to participate in some races, and ran a couple of sprints as well. While he was busy with all of that I got to spend time with Gran and Bop and relax among other things... We went to Starbucks on a regular basis and visited with neighbors and friends for hours... What great fun! We had a BBQ and visited with family and the guys gathered in the back house to watch a basketball game, while the girls gabbed and gabbed! Casey and I had lots of fun! At the track meet, it was great! We saw a lot of the regulars and a few new faces who were out to compete. The most memorable was the 3 year old little boy who had only had his new limbs for 3 months. Everyone cheered him on and he just was having the time of his life! Smiling away! The guys in the Navy got to participate in their first ever events and looks like one of them qualified to head out to Nationals with Casey. It was very inspiring for all of us and it always is, to watch these men and women overcome tremendous hurdles in their own lives by competing. As for now, we are back home but head out for our very own baby shower that a friend Cory and my sister Tiffany are throwing for me in Fresno. Tune in next time for an update of our weekend extravaganza pics...

Hello Baby Taylor

Well, today we were a little tied up we went to get pictures done of the baby... yes he was very stubborn! He slept for the most part because I had eaten a good brisket sandwich and he was very satisfied. He also sucked his thumb and covered his face almost everytime we tried to get a good picture of his face. He stuck his tongue out and then stuck his foot in his mouth too. We got to see his baby bottom and hands and feet and he was being quiet the stinker... Here are 2 of the pictures we got, but maybe I will get more later... I hope you like!

I am now 31 weeks...

They didn't attach:

WADDLE, WADDLE

OR the side profile of the enlarging bottom!

So appropriate though...hahaha

Latests & Greatest...

Just wanted to share with everyone that Casey set another Personal Record for the 100m sprint. He timed in at 00:00:11.66. That is better than what he timed in Athens. We are hopeful that he continues to beat his own records and we are excited everytime he does! This time he raced in LA, again, another race against the able bodied college athletes. News with me... well, I celebrate another semester of school behind me! YIPPEE!! I finally finished my last final this morning and am excited to say that made it! Now, I can fully devote myself to sleep, sleep, and more sleep... no, just kidding! I wanted to tell those faithful few who read these postings should you ever want to post a comment, you DO NOT have to sign up and get a login or password. SIMPLY type your name immediatly following your comment and then click in annonymous. Another note, I have registered for some baby things on amazon.com (baby registry) just type in Casey or Robyn Tibbs, I am also registered at babies-R-us. We also have picked a name that we would like to share with you all... We have decided on Taylor Douglas Tibbs. I hope to share some more pictures soon and I hope you check it out... Love and hugs to all, Robyn

Check out my Slide Show!

As of late, I am sorry that I have been busy, busy... Luckily, I am almost done with school! Sigh... anyway, I have been out of town to visit my family in good 'ol Fresno, where we celebrated Mother's Day, my nephew's 1 year old birthday, and my parents wedding anniversary. Casey, was tied up with track and still is, but when I came home, and he came home... from Manchester, England, we went to San Diego State University's graduation for a friend that Casey went to school with in Ridgecrest. If you recognize him from the picture, it is because he was also in our wedding and we are so glad that we have been able to hang out with him here in San Diego! He has been showing us all of the many places to go and eat around town... and we are loving it! We got to meet his whole family and then some... 60+ people and we had a ball at all the festivities... Anyway, this weekend Casey competes again in LA on Sunday and I have to attend a weekend of obligatory reserve training for the Navy, sigh, and study for school... Hopefully, with the school's wrapping up soon, I will be able to relax and all. Last night, we had company, one of Casey's paralympic buddies spent the night and left for a competition in Utah... we had lots of fun and all of us ate a real good cheesecake, with strawberries all over the top, awh... the joys of sweets and sharing them with friends! Anyway, that is our latest and greatest and hopefully I will be more frequent about updating. Have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day to all and updates coming soon!

I am behind in my updates and I apologize. I hope to be up and running mid week with more pictures and story to boot. For now, I am swamped with school and I just came home from being out of town. Regrettably, I am so tired that I cannot fill everyone in on our adventures of late... Again, I will update this blog mid week. Till then, I hope you all have a lovely Monday... Ta Ta

Hollywood Tibbs & TV's "Peter Harsch"

This is Casey's friend Peter Harsch, the guy who participated in TV's "Amazing Race". He works with Casey at the Naval Medical Center as a prosthetist. We have some-what adopted him, since he lives so far out of town and frequently stays with us. Now you know who we are talking about when we mention his name... He came over to help Casey fix another leg and then met up with a new amputee in the ward, just in from Iraq. Anyway, we all sat around and watched American Idol results show and then like normal... we got tired early and headed off to bed. Lucky for us, Peter was wiped out too, so we weren't the party poopers!

Update from the Track Meet

Casey had a good day setting another personal record in the 200m sprint. His results were as follows: [100m- 11.72], [200m-23.26], [400m relay-3.26] and lastly [Longjump- 6.01m]. Cousin Jodine came and brought Olivia so we had lots of support in the cheering section. Casey loves Olivia and I know Olivia loves her uncle Casey. He loves to take her and play with her between his events. (Casey can't wait for his own son to come and hang out with him!) Coach Cruz and some of Casey's teammates have already decided that our son will also be an athlete, just like his daddy. I am so excited! We ought to have a jersy made for Track and Field so that when he is born he can suit up and go out to the track with Casey. Anyway, we will send more news as we get it, on the baby, Casey's track and field events and me. I am off to bed. Finally!
