Day at the beach.

(In picture:  Papa John, L, T, and Dadda Casey)

What a beautiful day at the beach!  Surf was great!  It was beautiful weather!  The kids were in good moods!  Made for a great day of relaxation!  We had our own tent city just below the grass, just feet from the water!  The guys and girls had fun surfing!  This is taken before Casey lost his best set of sunglasses!  Bummer!  What are we going to do, oh I forgot, John, pictured left also lost his hat!  Bummer!  The kids really wanted to go for a swim too, even though they had no wetsuits and they would have froze!  We saw tons of dolphins jumping through the waves, it was magnificent!  What great moments we get to share with our friends!  We sure have made out well here in San Diego!  That is for sure!

A Simple Love Affair!

A Simple Love Affair!

It started when they were very young!  Just a casual foot massage!  That's all it took!

Then a hand hold... How could they resist one another?  She was a great fashion diva, and he was a charmer!  The love was just starting to blossom!
She was so good to him!  Already she would take him for walks!  He admired her strength, she loved his curly locks!

Now they run side-by-side, hand-in-hand, with their toes in the water!  They laugh and laugh at how silly love can be!  Just a boy and a girl!

Oh, what a wonderful love affair!

Christmas 2008

Just some highlights from our Christmas this last year. We had a great Christmas Eve and Santa made a visit which was so much fun! T was dressed in his Christmas outfit and looked like an elf! He helped daddy pass out gifts which were hiding in the house because I was completely blown away and had no idea that Santa had even come! Wow! T had loads of fun opening his presents and took his sweet time ripping slivers, teeny tiny slivers from a package at a time! He would rip a little and then hand me it and rip a little more and then hand me it. He wanted to play with everything immediately which meant that he wanted us to open the boxes, put things together, load toys with batteries, and the such! He received a rocking chair from his Mimi and Papa and just fell in love with it the instant I put it together for him! He now sits in it with the phone to his ear or a book or his sippy cup. Just like a big boy. He also got a big tricycle which he enjoyed ringing the bell and sitting on the back pushing with his feet until he ran into the furniture and had to be turned around. He got a tractor and puzzles and books and cars and you name it. He got clothes and bowling set and so many things that he just loved! It was so fun for us to witness his pure excitement with each thing! Great fun for all of us! Christmas day we went over to a Christmas dinner at a friends house. We potlucked it and it also was a blast! All the kids played and got all their energy out which was perfect! All of the adults mingled guzzled beer and oohed and ahhed at all the dishes to which we would all swap recipes later. We had a couple of huge play dates and more friends which kept us busy and full of activities. After the new year, grandma and grandpa from Bakersfield came and we did more Christmas. So we just kept the season going for a while. We didn't decorate much this year just a small Gingerbread house which will be a tradition we can enjoy as a family. Other than that we didn't decorate anything else. That made clean up a breeze! Anyway, just thought you all might want to see our Christmas of 2008.

My First Big Boy Hair Cut!

Look at me!  Today we had a Great Day!!!  We went to the beach, played in the water, brought mommy some sand-dollars and some shells, got totally sandy!  We met our friends and T got to play with his sand toys under a tent, blah, blah, blah.  Great day!  After T took a great nap he got his first big boy hair cut.  Daddy and mommy went outside and hooked a baby seat to the table we have and daddy got his hair clippers and got busy with the style.  I looked up on the internet boy styles and we decided that T would look best with the Caeser's cut.  T did really well and wanted to hold the comb and brush and lucky for us he didn't mind the clippers buzzing in his ear.  I was so pleased that it wasn't a nightmare trying to do this!  We had fun and then we were so happy that it turned out real cute!  He was so happy to get a bath afterward to clean off sand from the beach and hair from the cut!  I think even he thought he was good looking since he kept looking at himself in the mirror.  That is our boy.  Now he is all grown up!  I wonder how often we will have to keep it up now?  Thought you might want to see his charming new look.

Almost 17 months

Just some updates from the Tibbs here...  I am loving it here in San Diego, so much because we are in January and it is 80 outside!  Maybe we will go to the beach this afternoon!  How fun for T!  He would love it!  We will see.  Anyway, we had a Dr. visit today and T is still at the very top of the charts.  We thought he was 33 pounds, but we were wrong... he is 32 pounds.  He stands now at 34 3/4 inches which means he can almost hit the 35 marker at the theme park rides.  He walks and can say a couple words: dada, chip, bib, dog, papa, juice, book (sort-of), and cracker (sort-of).  He is right where he should be!  His feet are still a little turned inward and so we can put the shoes on the wrong feet to help with this and just keep monitoring them every visit.  Nothing to worry about yet.  He got 3 shots today, :( 2 in his leg, in which I had to sit behind him and bear hug him and he watched the needles go in and then screamed!  I don't know that telling him to look the other way would work quite yet... then he got a shot in his forearm with a bugs bunny bandaide which stayed on long enough for him to finish what he was eating.  We have to return in 2 days to have one test read and then it isn't until 2 years that we return.  Other fascinating news with T:  he climbs everything!  We caught him on the table in the kitchen.  He pushes the chairs in the kitchen and back room until they are where he wants them, so that he can climb up to play with the light switches, climb up to help mommy with dishes, or help mommy cook.  He will routinely switch the TV channels or turn the TV on and off over and over and over again because he likes the idea that he can control the buttons and the static when the TV turns off is funny!  So, if you are watching a football game, you must at the same time have T nearby so that he won't shut the game off right at the crucial moments.  T, right now is learning what it means to share.  Who knows when he will finally understand this completely, but his girlfriend and he share a lot of the same things so it makes for LOUD and funny situations!  T is also cutting in 4 teeth at the same time now and drools like a mad man!  We have to make sure we are careful because sometimes if he goes in for a kiss he will bite your lips!  He always wants his blankie to chew on, therefore it stinks!  And well, that is all that I can think to share with you at this moment, but I do have some pictures to share with you, so I hope you enjoy.

Darwin Awards

Just thought I might share with you a horrible but funny incident that I read in an email.  The email was titled Darwin Awards...

"When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked
on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for. Police
arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor
home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man
admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into
the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle
declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever
had."
