Reagan

You know I am not much of a creative mom, although I love to bring science projects into the home or bugs or animals to the attention of the children.  I want them to have an appreciation for all things God has made for us.  He wants us to be amazed at all things beautiful and different!  Anyway, that is not what I was going to write to you about.  I want to go back to my not being a very creative mom.  I don't scrapbook, but I really want to do something for the kids for when they graduate high school.  I value making memories and know how mine escape me even now at my age.  Yes, you say graduation is far away, but so many of you say how quickly time flies.  So, here I go with an attempt at catching memories for the children through the eyes of their teachers.  The idea is to secretly keep a book and give it to each teacher to sign and date, like the yearbook we all got at the end of each year during our high school years so that our friends and acquaintances could write silly nonsense in.  This I hope to have a little bit more meaning in.

I just got Reagan's back from her teacher who I dearly love!  I wanted to share with you what she wrote.

  Reagan,
You are "precious in His sight" and mine!  I have so loved praying and visiting with you and for you each week this year.  You are such a good listener at circle time and I know God has truly appreciated your lovely singing!  I will pray for you as you seek His good purpose for your life.  I know it will be quite an adventure from the twinkle in your eyes!
I love you, Ms. Windy Westley Preschool 2011-2012

I just love this teacher so much!  We actually attend the same church, which I found out only recently.  I am so glad God has placed us there at that preschool with such wonderfully dedicated teachers!  They are dedicated to the Lord and therefore nurture the kids through their prayers and tender spirits!  I loved that some of the teachers we have had the privilege of having have also been in Bible Study Fellowship and taught in their programs as well!  I hope that the Lord blesses each of their families as we have been blessed through their love!

In other news with Reagan, I just finished our last physical therapy session here.  I have been encouraged to keep up with physical therapy due to Reagan's low tone.  (All of this was unknown to me but through understanding, it all makes sense and connects with behavior and quirky mannerisms.)  Anyway, this next update is mainly for my own mother who I know will just be thrilled!  I asked if putting Reagan in swimming or gymnastics or ballet would be beneficial.  She said most definitely that swimming would help and I could quite possibly get her in an exercise aquatics program at the YMCA or physical therapy in the water or just plain 'ol swim.  But then she also suggested that I try Reagan in ballet because of all of the focus on core and balance and posture.  Now, I don't think I ever would have fussed over her pursuing any of this girly stuff.  My mother would have.  Now, however, I would love to encourage her toward something that is completely beneficial for more than one reason.  So, I guess, bring on the tutu's and leotard.  Oh my!  I guess I will need to get used to this.  Then again, if Reagan doesn't like it I won't force her...  I do want to say thank you to Ms. Jan for work with Reagan and her help with instructing me in many exercises to continue to do with Reagan.  Now Taylor wants to participate and I suppose I will have the whole family doing pilates before bed or scooting on the floor like mermaids and racing for a ball.

Maybe I will get Reagan some balet slippers to see if she might like them... She loves tap shoes... Oh my... what is happening here!
