Last Week @ the Endeavor Games
Immediatly after my last exam, Casey and I boarded a plane headed for Oklahoma City. While we were there, Casey lead some track clinics, visited with his prosthetic company, brought some Balboa Navy Medical patients to participate in some races, and ran a couple of sprints as well. While he was busy with all of that I got to spend time with Gran and Bop and relax among other things... We went to Starbucks on a regular basis and visited with neighbors and friends for hours... What great fun! We had a BBQ and visited with family and the guys gathered in the back house to watch a basketball game, while the girls gabbed and gabbed! Casey and I had lots of fun! At the track meet, it was great! We saw a lot of the regulars and a few new faces who were out to compete. The most memorable was the 3 year old little boy who had only had his new limbs for 3 months. Everyone cheered him on and he just was having the time of his life! Smiling away! The guys in the Navy got to participate in their first ever events and looks like one of them qualified to head out to Nationals with Casey. It was very inspiring for all of us and it always is, to watch these men and women overcome tremendous hurdles in their own lives by competing. As for now, we are back home but head out for our very own baby shower that a friend Cory and my sister Tiffany are throwing for me in Fresno. Tune in next time for an update of our weekend extravaganza pics...
