First things first, Reagan saw a Neurologist yesterday and things went well! They waited for me to arrive from dropping Taylor off from school since there office is completely relaxed and everyone comes when they can. Anyway, so far she appears fine and developing as normal as can be but we still want to be evaluated again in 6 months time. We have to return for an ultrasound in the next weeks to yet another area of the hospital and a part that I am unfamiliar with. I have no idea how long it will be or what to expect, hmmm. They are going to ultrasound the bottom of her spine where she has a dimple. They are unable to see whether the dimple is closed or if it actually is open all the way to the spine. She now weighs 13lbs. 4 oz. She is, I feel, just getting longer and longer. She looks healthy and happy and I hope to get videos up soon!
Other news, Casey has been selected for advancement and is learning all he can about what that means. Being a leader, customs, Naval traditions and history, raising money, team building, blah, blah, blah. There is a lot that goes into shaping what he has been selected for... oh, and that is Chief (E-7), since I forgot to mention earlier. He was nominated by one of the higher ups to receive training with other men from all over the world on the USS Constitution. There he is learning more about Naval history and service to our country. That, my friends is all I know. I hardly talk to the man... He is tied up and marching and studying and doing busy-work just like boot-camp. Taylor misses him like MAD! He has been saying he wants his daddy and sadly, we haven't had any Skype time or phone calls for Taylor and daddy and daddy was just swept up quickly to this training.
Taylor has started school and now has completed a whole weeks worth. He loves it! He has 16 children in his class and it is just like kindergarten where you have teacher helpers and your name over your cubby, a place for your lunch box, a folder you are responsible for dropping in a bin before class everyday, he even has his name on a place where he sits everyday! Assigned seating. They line up for recess and have EVERYTHING ORGANIZED like you wouldn't believe!!! Taylor has not been shy about going, but finally just today, the teacher commented on how they finally got to see Taylor is a silly guy! He has dropped the shy bit and was goofy and joking and well, the weasel or squirrelly side of him has finally shown itself. I think he will be a clown! Taylor is also in soccer practice 2 times a week and has his first game this Saturday. He plays well enough but is the youngest on his team and needs a little direction... It is cute! Their team is called the Bandits and it is too cute!!!
Back to Reagan, we are all lined up for many visits coming up. Cardiology, well-baby with Pediatrics, Neurology again, and we have been talking with Speech therapy. We will see what Ear, NOse, and Throat wants to do considering vocal cord damage has not repaired itself. Swallow disfunction is still present and there is no indication that further healing will occur. We have yet to see images of her heart and so presently I have no idea if recovery is complete or not and if the hole in her heart has changed if any. Much to update soon. Again, sorry for the lack of pictures.
